My New Daily Affirmations
"Everything and everyone prospers me."
It's a life-view that everything and every one adds value to your life. Powerful. Even the most annoying, horrible and sad events..., upon close introspection, observation, and interpretation, can be pivot points, inspirations, and triggers for change that make you a better person and your life better.
"Preparation is everything."
My version of John Wooden's quote (the Master of Preparation): "Failure to prepare is preparing to fail."
My Goals is Back! (I am back, too!)
I haven't updated My Goals since mid-August. I had finished my summer internship at an investment bank on Wall Street, and I just turned off for two months. After nearly two years of setting and tracking goals, I was a bit burnt. At the same time, I had achieved an important goal - getting a job on Wall Street. For a while, I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit lost. I had worked rigorously for the past few years to get that full-time offer. I kind of lost my source of motivation.
During the past two months, I got to explore the city more, enjoy nightlife, and meet new people... but I began to feel a bit empty. I wanted to do more, read more, and learn more as I always did. Oh, I also met a wonderful girl name Chicora! A super sweet and supportive girl. I've also been teaching a class called "Lessons of Life" where I teach high school students on goal-setting, time management, and mindset. If I'm going to teach it, I gotta live it too, right?
So I'm back from my break. I'll like to consider it a "retreat" where I got lost a bit, rested, and came back re-energized and focused than ever before. A new chapter is starting in my life, and I'm very excited for it.
I reflect over the past year and a half since I started my blog, and I'd like to think I'm a better person now, a better man.
Well, I'll be updating regularly again. Meanwhile, check out My Goals. Something that's going to be a focus this year in addition to my usual academic and business endeavors, is a key focus on health and especially on street combat / defense. Especially with a girlfriend, I realize one of my key responsibilities as a man is to protect her (though she's probably stronger than I).
Thanks for reading as always, and it's good to be back.
I have a girlfriend!
