The End of a Chapter. Beginning of Another.

I'm leaving for NYC this friday night. August 18th.

I'm beginning to realize the importance and significance of my decisition to move to New York and transfer to New York University.

It's not simply a transfer of schools. It's the end of a chapter and beginning of another in my life.

After moving from Korea in 1999, I've lived in Los Angeles for 4 years and the Bay Area for 3 years. And my family's been in LA for all 7 years.

When I arrive in New York... I'm staying for an indefinite amount of time. I want to live and breathe New York. I want to live there and work there. I will become a New Yorker.

What's more significant is this. I'm leaving everything behind. My past, my memories, my joy, my pain... EVERYTHING.

Keeping in touch w/ no one except family.

I wake up these days thinking "What am I doing?" / "Am I really going?" / "What have I done?"

But a gut instinct tells me that... this is the right choice.

If I'm going to start a new life... it had to be at the biggest, the toughest, the most exciting, stimulating, and challenging place in the world. A place where I know absolutely no one, where opportunities are abound, and where I can find, define, and develop myself.

P.S. I will keep a much more detailed log of my transition and journey into becoming a New Yorker. The blog has been under "cruise control" for a while... Updates will resume on Saturday, August 19th.
